First Pumpkin Party

We don't really celebrate " Halloween" , however my family have always wanted to make a " Jack O' Lantern" while my cousin who is a" new mommy " wanted to dress up her cute babies in costume. She's been halloween shopping at Kmart. So we have decided to have a barbeque party one weekend with all those scary halloween trimmings.

I have checked out Pinterest for ideas and raided my pantry, found jelly packets that was left over from my daughter's birthday. I made the jelly and poured it into the disposable wine glasses from Costco. Orange jelly was perfect for " jack o lantern". Then i had this mad idea to make " Frankenstein" jelly by pouring grape jelly at the bottom of the cup and lime jelly on top ( the kid in me was challenged , lost count on how many times I opened the fridge to check if the grape jelly have set). Then I used unflavored gelatin , sugar , vanilla and thickened cream to create the " Pannacotta ghost". My first idea was to just detail the face using a Sharpie. I thought my old one have dried up as it stopped working after drawing the first pumpkin face. But then realised that it was the cold jelly cup that doesn't like the marker . So i decided to use the black electrical tape and cut up shapes for the face details but Frankie's eyes was made from white sticker sheets.

The Mummy hotdogs is kinda like a Pinterest fail :) but the kids had heaps of fun making it. We don't have Crescent Dough here in Australia ( ehem Costco AU?) so we have to make it from scratch. It was quite horrific - tough and salty just perfect for a scary party! ( Some are quite burned as well , I forgot about them too busy playing with my cute nephew who was dress like a chubby skeleton ).

Donuts from Krispy Kreme

The pièce de résistance - our very first " Jack o Lantern" . Special Thank you to Mr Ng for carving out the pumpkin .

My sister and " new" brother in law have showed off his BBQ cooking skills . We ate beef kafta and chicken tikka for dinner .

Our first Pumpkin Party was fun ... can't wait for next year .
