Glenorie Bakery Cafe
We are celebrating two milestones this week our 15th year wedding anniversary and my birthday, were blessed. It's time for cake ! however i didn't feel like making one. So we decided to go for a drive to find a good cake . There's a little village about 40 minutes drive from our place and it is famous for its pies and breads and cakes . The drive to the countryside was scenic , we travelled through the woods and winding road, we drove past the fields with horses and cattles.
Glenorie Bakery a very charming country style building like a rustic barn but with the glorious smell of freshly baked bread .
Stepping inside is like going into a museum of baking , Old industrial mixers and olden times baking tools are on display. As a baker i love the way it was placed exhibit.
There is a train going around the rafters and amazing rotating chandelier. I was distracted by the display and the kids and Mr. Ng was already deciding what's for lunch.
We had meat pie and the kids had fish and chips it was delicious . Kids meal was quite generous in portion as well.
And the most important part of this meal the dessert . The bakers has put so much love in these little treats, picking was quite a hard task everything on the stand looks so good .
After a good ten minutes here's what we have picked , Berry cheesecake - berry yummy the base was buttery shortbread and cheesecake bit have just the right amount of sweetness and creaminess and the tartness of strawberries and raspberries cuts through the richness of the cake . The little mud cake was so chocolatey and the macaron garnish is perferct in crunch. The florentine cookies is crunchy , just the right sweetness as well . Choosing the eclairs was quite challenging we want it all but we have to hold back so we settled for three ,berry eclair with creamy berry filling, toffee eclair filled custard and pistachio with green pistachio cream.
It was a delightful selection of dessert. We highly recommend Glenorie Bakery for the lovers of sweet and baking enthusiast.
