Museum of Fire
We brought our car for the routine service and maintenance today, Holden Penrith have one fantastic bus driver who can take you back to the station or the plaza. I was trying hard to keep the cost of this day to a minimum as we are already paying for the car service. The plaza would be an expensive place to be with a five year old , I packed todays lunch and filled our backpack with toys , thinking that we would just hang out the service centre. However little master Jet have become bored and started playing with the big car , a vintage Holden and we can tell that the showroom boss is not happy about our presence as we leave little finger marks on the newly polished vintage Holden.
I thought of going to the park but it's quite hot outside, so i have decided to just ask the driver to drop us at the Museum of Fire ( not so hot they have aircon) . The Museum of Fire is located in the former Penrith Power Station building on the corner of Castlereagh road and Museum drive. Entry to the museum cost $ 12 for the adults and $6 for kids , all the proceed goes to educating families about the dangers of fire and preserving the heritage of the communities bravest. The museum staff are firefighters , a good place to meet a real hero.
Vintage Fire engines has been beautifully restored and cared for at the museum , There's an interactive gallery that tells us the dangers of fire and what to do in the event of fire .
And there's things to do and for the little one there's a colouring in section and little fire engines to play with you can even dress up like fire fighter as you play in the trucks
After 3 hours our car is finally ready we called the driver to take us back to the service centre . Museum of Fire was a really cool place to hang out .
