Toys Through Time

A Toy Festival is happening this weekend , we have decided to check it out today and learn about the toys from the past before there was ipad , DS and xbox .

The Rouse Farm is located at Windsor Road Rouse Hill, the farm was once owned by six generations of the Rouse Family. It is now being cared for and restored by Sydney Living Museum which was once known as the Historic Houses Trust of New South Wales , their mission is to preserve and interpret buildings and places with historic importance for all of us to learn and enjoy. Walking through the grounds of Rouse Hill Farm is like stepping back into a time capsule as we discover toys from the olden times ( no batteries required lol) .

We were greeted by playful toy soldiers, they are in luck as we can't hide them in our pockets. Thanks to long legs, an attribute i don't possess and stopped me from joining the army .

The farm has many buildings added by each generations of the Rouse Family today they will be hosting different exhibits of toys .

Vintage Rocking Horses was in the stables , magnificent ! we wished we could ride them, We learned about a special place that makes and restores this beautiful beast in Windsor and we will check it out and feature it in this blog one day.

There's billy carts on the lawn and theres a funny guy in unicycle and a very tall beautiful lady ( here goes my envy with long legs again ....)

There's dolls for the girls ....

Swords and cars for the boys

Wooden toys are still fun though some may not pass today's safety standards , we don't really understand why not if toys from the past is dangerous , How come there's still lots of nans and pops telling all the fun tales of toys they ever had ?

There's a market stall too where we can buy more toys that we will only play once as our hands and eyes are now a claimed property of Apple and Nintendo.

Its been a fun day looking at Toys through time .......
